The VsTank M4A3 Sherman Camouflage is very similar to the Olive Green with the 105 mm gun. I will highlight some of the differences in the coming photos. This review will be shorter on the comments as it is similar to the 105mm Olive Green Version.

Side view. Notice the longer 75mm Gun compared to the 105mm Olive Green Sherman. The colors are awesome.

Instead of a barrel, the Camouflage 75mm version comes with a Jerry Can and more Tracks in the front.

Rear view. *I shifted the Frequency Band sticker for my tank. New out of the box, the sticker is located on the underside of the lower hull, near the battery compartment.

Same tracks. The ones we sell comes with the hard plastic treads. Hard plastic treads increase the realism and reduces the chance for the tracks to derail themselves on high friction surfaces like the carpet and floor mats.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Camouflage (IR Version)

Notice the difference in the Sprockets' design from the 105.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Camouflage (IR Version)

The VVS suspension. It is powered by a single spring for each pair of wheels.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Camouflage (IR Version)

The suspension, tracks and relatively small size makes the Sherman a very nimble Tank to drive and battle with. In reality, the Sherman catches fire easily and could be taken out from a distance by the German by their longer barreled guns like the Flak 36 88mm. But for VsTank, the battle system is designed standard across the board and therefore the nimbleness quickly becomes a noticeable advantage over bigger tanks like the Tiger and the KVs.

Tools are well painted with the spade crafted separately.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

VsTank M4A3 Sherman, the best made VsTank till date. (excluding the King Tiger)

Today I’m going to write on the VsTank M4A3 Sherman.

It is proven to be the best made VsTank Pro till date.

Small and Robust, this small looking tank is really mean on the IR battlefield.

The Looks

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green, it really looks good right out of the box.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

Side view, VVS suspension and 105mm Gun. Nice weathering.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

The turret is so packed with details.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

So is the front.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

Rear view

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

Look at the details on the rear. If it was a toy, the details will no doubt be removed or limited.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

The sprockets are detailed and very sturdy. I have never slipped a track with the Sherman. Awesome runner.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

Rear idler. Look how deep the track teeth wraps around the idler.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

The drive system that makes the Sherman the overall best runner till date.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

The inverted U tracks. The tracks are narrow as compared to the others like the Tiger and KVs. Ability to climb does suffer a little but the advantages you get with the compact size and relatively harder to hit IR sensor easily outweighs the negative.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

The VVS suspension. it works so well that the Sherman bounces when you drive it rough down an edge.

The headlights lights up when the tank drives forward/backward.

Weld marks.

Separately casted spade! Tools are carefully painted and no messy paints on the hull.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

The cargo rack is one of the most flimsy part of this tank and it is quite sturdy. Caution not to lift the tank with your hands pressing on the rack, it will fall off. Nothing serious and a little hobby cement will instantly repair it. Handle it with care and you will save yourself the small trouble.

Closed Commander Capula.

Open Commander’s Capula

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

The Sherman comes with a pre-painted plastic commander. VsTank do sell a separate metal, pre-painted commander as an upgrade. This commander does help you block some angles where enemy tanks can shoot at and hit your IR sensor. Always put your commander on in battle. This is true for the .50 cal Machine Gun as well.

The Sherman comes with the newer Electronics, so the volume control.

The battery rack is one of the cleanest in the VsTank lineup

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

Let’s have a look at the location of the frequency crystal. I realised I missed out posting the location on the King Tiger.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

The frequency crystals can be switched out so more tanks can actually run together. Currently you can run up to 13 tanks at once.

The location of the IR sensor. You will see why the Sherman is really hard to hit.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

Slowly press and turn the cap, the IR sensor will show. Remember to remove the cap before battle.

Ready for battle.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

the 105mm Gun does have an advantage during battle. It’s short and therefore highly mobile compared to the other tanks with longer guns. At closer range, you will almost always have an advantage against tanks like the Tiger 1.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

VTX-10 transmitter. The same controller used on the King Tiger, the controller is very simple to use. It’s multi-channel means you can move, fire and turn all at once.

Photo review of the VsTank M4A3 Sherman Olive Green

6 buttons on top, muzzle up/down, turret left/right, main gun and machine gun.

Sound

The VsTank King Tiger, with the newest electronics comes with the following sound effects:

  • Engine start
  • Engine idling
  • Main gun
  • Machine gun
  • Damage effects
  • Death effects

The sounds are loud and crisp.

Conculsion

VsTank M4A3 Sherman is one of the best tanks you can have in the VsTank range.
Quality is excellent as expected of VsTank and the compact size and robustness of the tank makes it pretty hard to hit. Not to mention the amount of details actually blocking the IR sensor.

If you’re looking to win more IR battles, the sherman is the top choice.

Requires

  • 8 AA Batteries for the Tank (Rechargables are recommended)
  • 6 AA Batteries for the Transmitter
  • 1 Screw driver to remove the tank from the box and to unscrew the battery compartment found on the transmitter.

VsTank King Tiger 1/24 scale R/C Tank

The long awaited VsTank King Tiger is finally here!

Today, I’ll be reviewing the new release from VsTank, the 1/24 scale King Tiger (Infrared Version).

Before I get started, pardon me for the language as I’m no where near being a writer of any sort. What I would like to do is to provide photo reviews of items we are selling to our customers like you with more information to help you reach your buying decision.  Loads of pictures. Read on…

Released this month in November with months of delay, comes the King Tiger. Just in time for Christmas.

Awesome Paintwork

The first thing anyone will ever notice is the awesome paintwork VsTank has done on this beast.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Look at the awesome VsTank paintwork. 3-tone ambush camouflage.

The King Tiger is by far the best painted tank in the VsTank line up.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Awesome Paintwork and properly weathered body and decal.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Even the spare tracks hinged on the turret looks amazing. Realistic gun metal with brown washes.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Another look at the fantastic looking tracks.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Quality paintwork as expected of VsTank.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Quality paintwork extends to the rear.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Even the smaller parts are carefully painted without leaving a mark on the hull. Weathering on the flaps looks amazing.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

More tools. You can see the mild weather on the sides.

From the details, you can see that VsTank has really put in a great deal of effort to produce the best looking King Tiger in the 1/24 scale. No other RTR 1/24 tank I’ve ever seen looks as good right out of the box.

Finally, the tow cables.

Moving Parts

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

The Commander's Capula: It's pretty much the same as the Tiger I's Commander Capula. Handle it with care. Without caution, it breaks easily on forceful contact.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

The Commander's Capula: It's really works, just like the Tiger I, so some of you might want to close it if you are not planning to install the commander figure. Notice the weld marks? fantastic!

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

The aluminium barrel is mounted really close to the turret. Great. I've seen other tanks with the barrel so far away from the turret that the tank looks like a toy. This is hobby grade.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Front hatches are also working. You can purchase the King Tiger Crew Figurines Separately to have them sit on the open hatches. As any moving parts, take care or they might break. The moving parts looks sturdy enough for normal opening and closing without abuse.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

You might want to close it to prevent accidental breakage of the hatches.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Opened hatch. This hatch comes with a catch to keep the hatch from hanging loosely.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Closed Hatch. Open with care.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Tow shackles look big and sturdy. Try not to ram your tank against another with directly with the tow shackles though.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Rear tow shackles. just like the ones in front.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Mud Flaps. These are the flimsiest parts of the tank. Whatever you do, do not ram it against anything, the hingles will break. Other than the mud flaps, VsTank imo, uses really good plastics that can withstand quite a pounding during battles where more often than not, you actually ram into things. Unless you're playing it outdoors in the field. Luckily, VsTank do sell spare parts for every tank that they've made.

Other details.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Other smaller details like the weld marks on the machine gun pod makes the tank look a tad more realistic. For those who doesn't own a VsTank, the headlights shown here does work when the tank moves.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Weld marks all over the tank. Edges roughened.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Closer look at the wheels. We've tried running it over and over and has yet to slip a track.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Working suspension. Standard on all VsTank comes working suspension. The suspension works really well with the King Tiger partly due to it's heavier weight. For hobbyist, you might want to consider weathering the wheels more to match the heavier weathered tracks. It's optional since the wheels look pretty good out of the box.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Pin-Type Tracks! VsTank has done it correctly and installed the pin-type tracks for the King Tiger. Saves us the trouble of having to clip tracks back all the time during battle.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Nicely weathered.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Comes with the newer electronics and therefore, the King Tiger does have the volume control found on the Sherman and other more recent tanks with the newer electronics. Nope, they are still the old 27Mhz radio crystals. Currently VsTank has 13 different frequency crystals and 13 tanks can run together at the same time.

The Transmitter

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

VTX-10 transmitter. This transmitter is by far the easiest to use compared to the old transmitters. 2 sticks for forward / backward / spin left / spin right / turn left / turn right. 6 more buttons on the top of the controller.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

6 buttons fround on top: muzzle up / muzzle down / turret rotate left / turret rotate right / machine gun fire / main gun fire

Infrared Battle Brief and Sensor

For those who are new to VsTank, the one shown in this review is an Infrared Version. You can have it battle with up to 12 other tanks.
All the tanks come with a standard life counting system (6 Lives on each tank, if you die, simply off and on the tank and carry on the next round).

Armed with 2 types of armament, mainly the Turret Mounted Main Gun, which reduces your enemy tank’s life by 1 on every hit and the Machine Gun (uses the same Infrared LED as the Turret Mounted Main Gun, so do take aim using the Turret, not the machine gun found on the hull) reduces the life count by 1 every 5 hits.

Before going into battle, be sure to remove the Infrared Receiver Cap.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Where is the Infrared Receiver?. Press and turn the cap found right in front of the hatch on the turret to reveal the Infrared Receiver.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Remove the cap and you're ready for battle.

Accessories

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Accessories includes: Standard German Tank Commander, Spare Tracks and Pins, Machine Gun and 2 x 88mm rounds.

Review of the VsTank King Tiger

Standard Tank Commander. VsTank sells the whole King Tiger Tank crew casted from metal. Look for them separately.

Sound

The VsTank King Tiger, with the newest electronics comes with the following sound effects:

  • Engine start
  • Engine idling
  • Main gun
  • Machine gun
  • Damage effects
  • Death effects

The sounds are loud and crisp.

Conculsion

VsTank King Tiger is one of the best starter tanks, especially in the 1/24 scale.
The quality is unmatched in the 1/24 scale and the spare parts available will keep your tank running for quite a long time.
Imo, the paintwork alone is good enough to have collectors buy them for static display.

Requires

  • 8 AA Batteries for the Tank (Rechargables are recommended)
  • 6 AA Batteries for the Transmitter
  • 1 Screw driver to remove the tank from the box and to unscrew the battery compartment found on the transmitter.
